The hazard warning light is controlled by a non-latching button located in the center of the instrument panel. The hazard warning lights can be turned on at any time, regardless of power mode.
When the hazard warning lights are turned on, all front, rear and side turn indicators are turned on, which operate in the mode described above. The control lamps of the left and right turn indicators located on the instrument panel also flash. The direction indicators flash in the following mode: 360 ms - signal, 360 ms - pause. If the hazard warning mode is active, it overrides any previously set turn signal state.
If the vehicle is hauling a trailer, its turn signals will also flash at the same rate as the vehicle's turn signals. The trailer warning light on the instrument panel also flashes. If the trailer turn signal lamp burns out, the trailer indicator lamp will not flash.
The hazard warning system can also be activated by a collision signal from the restraint system control module (RCM). This signal is received by the CJB, which turns on the hazard warning lights.
The alarms can be disabled by changing from Ignition Power Mode to Accessory Power Mode 4 or Power Off Mode 0, or by canceling Collision Mode by the Restraint System Control Module.
