Depending on the market, the vehicle may be equipped with different types of connectors for connecting trailer wiring. See the Electrical Reference Library for details (ERL).
The CJB constantly monitors the status of the direction indicators and can determine if more than two lights are installed (side turn signal repeaters are not controlled). If a trailer is detected, the trailer warning light on the instrument panel will flash at the same rate as the vehicle's direction indicators.
If one or more of the turn signal lights on the vehicle or trailer is faulty, the trailer warning light will not flash to alert the driver to a faulty bulb.
