Self powered siren (if equipped) (Freelander 2)
Self powered siren (or self-powered siren with tilt function) located in the left rear corner of the engine compartment and attached to the fire screen. The siren is only installed in some markets.
Vehicles equipped with a self-powered siren may have a built-in tilt sensor that monitors the position of the vehicle. The CJB monitors the tilt sensor and can detect the movement, towing or lifting of the vehicle and activate the alarm. The self-powered siren type can be identified by the suffix in the part number. Sirens without a tilt sensor have an 'A' suffix and sirens with a tilt sensor have a 'B' suffix.
The siren is controlled by the CJB via the LIN bus. The siren also receives continuous battery power through the CJB. In the event of an interruption in the battery supply from the CJB, the siren is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery.
