Removal and installation of a fuel heater (Freelander 2)

NOTE: The description of the removal procedure in this manual may include installation steps.

1. Disconnect the battery ground wire. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging system - General information, Specifications).

2. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: Place secure stands under the vehicle.

3. Drain the coolant. Refer to Procedure: Drain/Fill Coolant and Bleed Cooling System (303-03B Engine Cooling - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, General Procedures).

4. Remove the mudguard of the right wing. Refer to Procedure: Fender Mudguard (501-02 Front body panels, Removal and installation).

5. Tightening torque: 10 Nm

• Substitute a container to collect the escaping liquid
• Disconnect the two coolant hoses
• Disconnect the fuel line

Possible fluid leakage. Plug all openings. Install new plugs.

7. Tightening torque: 10 Nm



8. Remove the fuel-fired auxiliary heater.

Installation

1. Reinstall the elements, working in reverse order.
