The battery is located under a cover on the left side of the engine compartment. The battery is installed on the shelf and fixed with a clamp plate and bolt assembly. The battery supplies power to the starter, alternator and BJB.
The BJB is located next to the left front suspension strut. The BJB contains fuse links, blade and fuses, and type fuses "J-case ", as well as a relay for the distribution of electricity between various vehicle systems and electrical junction boxes.
NOTE: Fusible links are installed on the inside of the BJB under removable covers.
The CJB is installed behind the glove compartment and receives its main power from the BJB. In addition to providing space for blade fuses, the CJB is the master controller for a number of vehicle systems. These features are described in the relevant sections of this manual.
The AJB is located under the luggage compartment carpet, next to the spare wheel well. AJB has a modular design and, depending on the vehicle equipment, includes up to three separate units. The AJB contains blade and J-case fuses and relays to power the systems used in the rear of the vehicle. The AJB receives its main power supply from the BJB.
Starter fuse
Pos. | spare part no | Name |
1 | - | Starter fuse |
A CAL3 starter fuse is built into the wire between the battery and the starter/alternator. The fuse is installed near the positive battery terminal and is integrated with the wire assembly. In the event of a blown fuse, the entire wire assembly must be replaced.
Wire Color Codes
New wire color codes have been introduced in electrical circuit diagrams. These new codes are listed in the following table.
Color | Code |
Black | BK |
Blue | BU |
Brown | BN |
Green | GN |
Grey | GY |
Orange | OG |
Red | RD |
Violet | VT |
White | WH |
Yellow | YE |
Wire trace color codes are separated from the base wire color code by a hyphen, for example, BU-RD corresponds to a blue wire with a red trace. Refer to Wiring Diagrams and Electrical Manual for more information.
