Tire location and recognition (Freelander 2)

The TPMS system can recognize the position of the wheels on the vehicle and assign the resulting tire pressure sensor identification data to specific positions on the vehicle, for example: FL (front left), FR (front right), RL (rear left) and RR (rear right). This feature is required because the front and rear tires have different set and threshold pressures.

The TPMS software automatically determines the position of the wheels using the automatic positioning function. This function is fully automatic and does not require driver intervention. In addition, the TPMS software can automatically collect data on the position of the wheels on the vehicle if the tire pressure sensors have been replaced or the position of the wheels on the vehicle has been changed.

The TPMS software is capable of automatically detecting under any operating conditions:

• installation of one or more new tire pressure sensors
• termination of signal transmission by one or more tire pressure sensors
• TPMS software may not identify tire pressure sensors that do not match the vehicle
• replacing one of "workers" spare wheel

If a new sensor is installed on "working" wheel, the identification data of the new sensor can be automatically entered into the system software after the first driving for more than 15 minutes at a speed exceeding 20 km/h.

NOTE: The spare wheel is not equipped with a tire pressure sensor.
