Removing
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle standing on only one jack. Always place the vehicle on secure stands.
2. Remove the front wheel. Refer to procedure: Wheel and tire (204-04 Wheels and tires, Removal and installation).
3. Loosen the tie rod end locknut.
4. Disconnect the tie rod end ball joint from the wheel knuckle. Special tool: 205-754
CAUTION: Make sure the ball joint ball does not rotate.
5. Remove the tie rod end.
CAUTION: For ease of installation, note the number of revolutions when removing the tie rod end.
Installation
1. Install the tie rod end.
CAUTION: When installing the tie rod end, the number of revolutions must be the same as when removing.
2. Attach the tie rod end ball joint. Tightening torque: 70 Nm
WARNING: Use a new tie rod end nut.
Clean mating surfaces of foreign material. Make sure the ball joint ball does not rotate.
3. Tighten the tie rod end locknut. Tightening torque: 55 Nm
CAUTION: Clean mating surfaces of foreign material.
4. Install the front wheel. Refer to procedure: Wheel and tire (204-04 Wheels and tires, Removal and installation).
5. Check and adjust wheel alignment using only Land Rover approved wheel alignment equipment for all four wheels.
