The fluid cooler is located on the return line between the steering gear and reservoir. The cooler includes flexible hoses connecting the reservoir and the return tube coming from the steering gear. The cooler is an integral part of the hoses and cannot be replaced as a separate item.
The cooler is an aluminum tube through which the power steering fluid flows. It is located in front of the engine radiator and air conditioning condenser. Aluminum cells are attached to the outer diameter of the cooler tube to dissipate heat. When the car is moving, cold ram air passes over the cooler, getting into its cells. The cells play the role of heat exchangers, giving off thermal energy to the liquid flowing through the tube.
