Active clutch control unit (Freelander 2)

NOTE: When installing a new active clutch module, a new sensor and throttle valve must also be installed.

Removing

1. Raise the car on a lift.

WARNING: Place secure stands under the vehicle.

2. Disconnect electrical connectors.

• Place a container to catch spilled liquid.
• Remove the gasket and discard it as no longer needed.

CAUTION: Clean area around element and remove foreign material from area.

3. Using a suitable tool, remove the butterfly valve.



4. Using a suitable tool, remove the active clutch sensor.

Installation

1. Install a new gasket.



2. Install the concave washer on the sensor with the convex side towards the sensor.



3. Install sensor and washer assembly.

The throttle valve and sensor must be installed on the Active Clutch Module before installing the assembly on the Active Clutch. Failure to do so may result in vehicle damage.

Make sure the component is aligned as shown.

4. Install a new throttle valve.



5. Install the active clutch module. Tightening torque: 6 Nm

NOTE: Lubricate the O-ring.

6. Connect electrical connectors.
