Brake pedal and pedal bracket (Freelander 2)

NOTE: The description of the removal procedure may contain a description of the installation steps.

Removing

1. Place the SRS system in safe mode. Refer to procedure: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering (501-20, General procedures).

2. Remove the lower driver airbag module. Refer to procedure: Driver's lower airbag module (501-20B Secondary restraint system, Removal and installation).

3. Remove the throttle control pedal assembly. Refer to procedure: Speed Control Actuator (310-03B Speed control - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and installation).



4. Remove the brake pedal assembly. Tightening torque: 25 Nm



5. Remove the brake light switch.

NOTE: Do not proceed with further disassembly if the element is removed only for access.

6. Remove the cruise control disable switch.

Installation

1. When installing, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
