303-D121 Puller, General Purpose

NOTE: The outer CV joint must not be removed from the shaft. To replace the outer hinge boot, the inner hinge and boot must be removed. The inner and outer covers are supplied as a kit.

Removing

1. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: Place secure stands under the vehicle.

2. Remove the axle shaft. Refer to Procedure: Right Axis (205-04 Front drive axle, Removal and installation).

NOTE: Discard clamps.

NOTE: Discard clamps.

CAUTION: Take care that dirt and chips do not enter the element.

NOTE: Discard clamp.

7. Special tool: 303-D121

Installation

1. Clean the elements and check them for deterioration.

CAUTION: Be absolutely clean when handling these items.

2. Establish covers of internal and external hinges on a half shaft.

3. Install the inner CV joint on the axle shaft.

NOTE: Install a new clamp.

4. Install the outer CV joint on the axle shaft.

CAUTION: These items must be reinstalled in the original position marked upon removal.

5. Pack the inner pivot with the supplied grease.

6. Pack the outer pivot with the supplied grease.

7. Fix the cover on the inner CV joint.

NOTE: Install new clamps.

8. Attach the cover to the outer CV joint.

NOTE: Install new clamps.

9. Establish the right semiaxle. Refer to Procedure: Right Axis (205-04 Front drive axle, Removal and installation).
