Special tool

303-D121 Puller, General Purpose

NOTE: The figure shows the boot of the right inner constant velocity joint; the left one is similar.

Removing

1. Remove the axle shaft. Refer to Procedure: Right Axis (205-04 Front drive axle, Removal and installation).

2.

NOTE: Discard clamps as unnecessary.

3.

CAUTION: Take care that dirt and chips do not enter the element.

4.

NOTE: Discard the mounting clip.

5. Special tool: 303-D121

Installation

1. Clean the elements and check them for deterioration.

CAUTION: Be absolutely clean when handling these items.

2. Install the inner CV joint on the axle shaft.

NOTE: Install a new clip.

3. Install the outer CV joint on the axle shaft.

CAUTION: These items must be reinstalled in the original position marked upon removal.

4. Pack the inner pivot with the supplied grease.

5. Attach the inner CV joint boot to the inner CV joint.

NOTE: Install new mounting clips.

6. Install the axle shaft. Refer to Procedure: Right Axis (205-04 Front drive axle, Removal and installation).
