Removing
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the front wheels. Refer to procedure: Wheel and tire (204-04 Wheels and tires, Removal and installation).
2. Remove the brake pad spring clip.
3. Remove the two caliper guide pins.
4. Release the brake caliper. Remove the brake pads.
CAUTION: Do not stress the brake hose.
5. Release the brake caliper. Remove the brake pads.
6. Repeat the above procedure on the other side of the vehicle.
Installation
1. Clean the brake caliper housing and base plate with clean brake fluid.
WARNING: Do not use compressed air to clean brake components. Dust from friction materials is harmful when it enters the lungs.
CAUTION: Clean mating surfaces and remove foreign material from mating surfaces, and ensure that brake shoe guides are free of grease.
2. Examine sealing rings of the piston of the working cylinder and directing pins on presence of damages.
3. Immerse the end of the bleed tube into a suitable container containing a small amount of the prescribed brake fluid. Place the bleed tube on the bleeder screw and loosen the screw a little.
4. Insert the piston into the caliper body and tighten the air release screw. Tightening torque: 8 Nm
5. Disconnect the bleed tube and remove the container. Install the brake pads. Install the brake caliper.
6. Install the guide pins and tighten them. Tightening torque: 28 Nm
CAUTION: Make sure the brake hose is not kinked and is properly installed.
7. Install the brake pad spring clip. Repeat the above procedure on the other side of the vehicle. Install the front wheels. Refer to procedure: Wheel and tire (204-04 Wheels and tires, Removal and installation).
8. Depress the brake pedal, check the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir and top up if necessary.
