Inspection and verification (Freelander 2)

WARNING: Diagnosis using the substitute method from a donor vehicle is NOT ALLOWED. The substitution of control units does not guarantee confirmation of the fault and, in addition, may cause additional faults in the tested vehicle and (or) in the vehicle from which the blocks are removed.

NOTE: Before starting diagnostic programs using troubleshooting tests, check and correct basic problems.

1. Perform a visual inspection for obvious mechanical or electrical damage.

Check for non-standard accessories that may interfere with the operation of the seat belt system Belt wear or damage Stop button is damaged or missing. Pretensioner locks/switches	Circuit breakers Faulty wiring harness Correct alignment of electrical connectors Loose or corroded connectors Pilot lamp (s) Sensor (And) strike Sensor (And) seat belt buckles Pretensioner (And) Passive safety system control unit

2. If an obvious cause of the problem you identified or the customer described is found, resolve it before proceeding to the next steps (if possible).

3. If the cause is not visually obvious, perform the tests below or check for DTCs and refer to the appropriate DTC index.
