- With moderate force, pull no more than 20 mm of the tape from the seat belt tensioner. Then release the tape.

No - For the first row seat belt Go to PINPOINT TEST C. For the second and third row seat belts Go to PINPOINT TEST B.
Pinpoint test B: Tape jammed into the seat
B1: The tape is jammed into the seat
- Visually inspect the condition of the potentially defective seat belt.
- Raise the seat base or release the seatback if necessary.
- Release the clamped tape, wait until the tape is taut and the clicks stop. Note: If the self-locking tensioner engages, wait for the belt to tighten and stop clicking.
- Check the correct operation twice.
Yes - No further action is required.
No - Go to PINPOINT TEST C.
Pinpoint test C: seat belt tensioner: belt guide loose
C1: seat belt tensioner: loose belt guide
- See Section 501-20 «Removal and installation» repair manuals. Remove matching trim panels to reveal D-ring (anchor fastening) and seat belt tensioner.
- Make sure the belt is not pinched, twisted and is in the middle of the seat belt tensioner spindle.
- Try pulling the webbing out of the seat belt tensioner NOTE: If the webbing of the seat belt webbing will engage the self-locking retractor.
- To unlock the self-locking tensioner, manually wind the tape onto the spindle until the self-locking tensioner disengages (clicks will stop).
- Pull the tape out completely.
- Check if the tape guide is correctly positioned. Check that the fasteners are correctly positioned in the tensioner frame.
- Wait for the tape to stretch.
- Check the correct operation twice.

No - Go to PINPOINT TEST D.
Pinpoint test D: Tape twist

- Unroll the tape so that it is correctly positioned in the ring.
- If necessary, thread the rolled section through the ring in the upright or through the slotted escutcheon.
- Check the correct operation twice.

No - Go to PINPOINT TEST E.
Pinpoint test E: obstacle in the path of the belt

- Remove obstacles and foreign objects. Make sure the tape is not pinched or chafed.
- Make sure the seat belt is not touching the wiring harness.
- Check the correct operation twice.

- See Section 501-20 «Removal and installation» repair manuals. Install the seat belt tensioner correctly; make sure that the mounting T-profile and the locking pins are positioned correctly.

NOTE: This test applies to the rear center seat belt tensioner installed in the seatback.
- See Section 501-20 «Removal and installation» repair manuals. Remove the seat cushion and the slotted plastic trim at the top of the seat back (at the point where the tape exits to expose the lower anchorage point of the center seat belt).
- Remove the lower seat belt anchor.
- Correctly lock the seat back, wait until about 20 mm of tape is retracted, then pull the tape out.
Yes - If necessary, push the microbutton back through the slotted plastic cover. Correctly install the slotted pad on the back of the vision, pull out the tape, then wait until it is taut, make sure that the micro button reaches the end on the outer side of the stop of the slotted pad.

Pinpoint Test I: Seat belt buckle not latching/stuck

NOTE: When checking for foreign objects/debris, do not insert tools or tools into the seat belt buckle inlet. Turn the lock over to remove the foreign object/debris.
- Check the operation of the seat belt buckle.
- Inspect the security lock entry for foreign objects/debris.
- Check the correct operation twice.
