Symptom | Possible reason | Action |
No movement of the driver's seat on command from the switch panel of the driver's seat (including the position stored in the memory is not activated) and there is no movement of the passenger seat on command from the passenger seat switch panel | The comfort function relay has been deactivated, which blocks the control functions of the driver's seat and the passenger's seat | Insert the key and turn on the ignition. Check the operation of the commanded seat control functions from the driver's and passenger's seat switch panels |
No movement of the driver's seat on command from the switch panel of the driver's seat (including the position stored in the memory is not activated) | Driver's seat switch panel ground circuit - open | Check SW 1 ground connection between driver's seat switch panel and DSM module for an open |
The driver's seat does not move in one or more axes on command from the switch panel or the position memory function does not work correctly | Seat switch stuck or short to battery or ground in seat switch panel/DSM connection | Check for the following DTCs for the DSM. B1B9424 - Seat lift switch. B1B9524 - Seat down switch. B1B9624 - Seat forward switch. B1B9724 - switch for moving the seat back. B1C0024 - Seat up tilt switch. B1C0124 - Seat down tilt switch. B1C0224 - Memory switch. B1C0324 - Memory switch #1 B1C0424 - Memory switch #2 B1C0524 - Memory switch #3 Check for stuck driver seat switch or short to battery or short to ground in driver seat switch panel/DSM connections |
Axial movement of the driver's seat on command from the switch panel occurs in a discrete mode with a delay (the seat moves axially for a short distance when the switch is pressed for more than 2 seconds and then stops. This condition can occur on ANY axis of the seat, i.e. when moving forward / backward, down / up or changing the angle of inclination). | Hall sensor of the drive motor of the corresponding axle is not connected or does not receive the expected signals | Check for the following DTCs associated with the DSM: B1B8731 - Seat Height/Position Motor Speed Sensor. B1B8931 Seat Tilt Motor Speed/Position Sensor B1B9331 Seat Tilt Motor Speed/Position Sensor If equipped, check connection (I) Hall sensor feedback between motor (yami) seat and seat module, and check the Hall sensor ground connections for the respective axle. After troubleshooting the Hall sensor connection, press and hold the corresponding axis move switch for more than 2 seconds. Now, when the switch is held down, axis movement should occur as long as the switch is pressed. Recalibrate the appropriate seat. |
The axial movement of the driver's seat on command from the switch panel occurs in a discrete mode. When the seat switch panel is commanded to move the seat in any axis, the seat immediately moves in the requested axis for a short distance and then stops. This condition occurs on a command to move the seat in ALL axes (horizontally, vertically or tilted). Unable to communicate via MS CAN network | The vehicle has a faulty MS CAN network | Perform CAN network integrity checks using the manufacturer's approved diagnostic system. |

When the seat switch panel is commanded to move the seat in any axis, the seat immediately moves in the requested axis for a short distance and then stops. This condition occurs on a command to move the seat in ALL axes (horizontally, vertically or tilted). | DSM module disconnected from MS CAN bus | Check for Instrument cluster DTC U020808 - Lost Communication with Driver Seat Module. If this DTC is present, check the driver's seat module CAN bus connections. |

This condition occurs on a command to move the seat in ALL axes (horizontally, vertically or tilted). | Driver door module (DDM) disconnected from CAN bus | Check for DTC U019900 for DSM: DDM Communication Lost. If this DTC is present, check the DDM CAN bus connections. |
