NOTE: The outer rear wheel arch is serviced as a separate welded panel.
Removing
1. In combination with the outer part of the rear wheel arch, it is replaced by:
- rear bumper cover
- Rear side panel
- Backdoor
- Rear side window glass
- Inner sidebar
2. 3. Remove the inner side panel. For more information, refer to the chapter: Rear Side Body Inner Panel (501-30 Repairs of sheet metal elements of the back, Removal and installation).
4. Mill out the weld points.
5. Separate the connections and remove the old panel.
Installation
1. Prepare the connecting surfaces of the old and new panels.
2. Drill holes in the new panel for MIG welding.
3. Attach the new panel and lock it in place. Check the reconciliation, if it is correct, go to the next step. If not, correct and recheck before proceeding to the next step.
4. Remove the new panel.
5. Apply adhesive to the areas shown.
6. Attach the new panel and lock it in place.
7. Tie butt joints.
8. Spot weld.
9. Welding with electric MIG rivets.
10. Clean all welds.
11. Reverse the removal procedure to install the appropriate panels and mechanicals.
