Powered and heated exterior mirrors are standard. Depending on the specification and trim level of the vehicle, the following options are available:
- Folding by means of the electric drive (function controlled by switch block) and automatic folding (function controlled by remote control)
- Storing and restoring the position
- Tilt mirror when reverse gear is selected
- Exterior mirror lamps
The power folding/auto folding function is only available if the vehicle is fitted with power mirrors.
The auto fold and tilt mirror functions in reverse gear cannot be configured by the driver, these functions can be activated or deactivated by the dealer using the Land Rover approved diagnostic system. The diagnostic system activates or deactivates one of the functions or both functions by setting the EEPROM memory in the instrument cluster.
The left door mirror has an ambient air temperature sensor hardwired to the ECM. The ECM is connected to the CJB and other control modules via a high speed CAN bus. The sensor sends information to the ECM, from where it is transmitted over the medium speed CAN bus for use by other control modules. On vehicles with a high-level instrument cluster, the CJB transmits a temperature signal to the instrument cluster, which displays outside temperature information to the driver.
For more information see the chapter: Electronic Engine Controls - 2.2L Diesel (303-14 Electronic Engine Controls - 2.2L Diesel, Description and function), Information and message center (413-08 Information and Message Centre, Description and Operation). The exterior mirror lamps are controlled by the interior lighting function. For more information, see chapter: Interior lighting (417-02 Interior lighting, Description and principle of operation).
