In addition to controlling the power window system, the front door modules also control the following functions:
- Locking doors. For more information, see the chapter: Handles, locks, latches and entry systems (501-14 Handles, locks, latches and entry systems, Description and function).
- Adjustment and heating of external mirrors. For more information, see the chapter:
- Rear view mirrors (501-09 Rear-view mirrors, Description and operation)
- Control Components (412-01 Climate control, Description and principle of operation)
- Exterior mirror lamps. For more information, see chapter: Interior lighting (417-02 Interior lighting, Description and principle of operation).
The rear door modules only control power windows and door locks.
The door modules are color-coded for correct positioning on the vehicle. The driver's door module and both rear door modules are black. Front passenger door module grey. The wiring harness connectors are also color-coded for connection to the respective door modules.
NOTE: Both rear door modules are identical.
If the front door module detects a malfunction, the DTC (DTC) stored in the module's memory. The DTC can be read using a Land Rover approved diagnostic system. If one of the rear door modules detects a problem, the DTC is stored in the corresponding front door module.
