Tailgate outside handle (Freelander 2)

NOTE: If removing the outside handle is done in conjunction with removing other interior door components, it is recommended that you release the outside door handle and screw cover from inside the door after removing the door trim, power window, and motor gaskets.

Removing

1. Release the two clamps.



2. To remove the outer rear door handle without removing the door trim padding.



3. To remove the rear door exterior handle after removing the door trim and power window trim padding.

Installation

1. When installing, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

2. Use the appropriate length of wire to hold the lock lever spring-loaded while pressing the outside handle.
