Spark plugs: from May 2003 (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Remove a noise-insulating casing of the engine.

KV6 ENGINE - MODIFICATION K, Camshafts of the left cylinder head, Noise-insulating casing of the engine.

3. Release the latches and disconnect the connectors from the ignition coils.

4. Turn away 6 bolts of fastening of coils of ignition to heads of cylinders.

5. Pull the coils and remove them from the cylinder heads.

6. Using a 16mm spark plug socket, remove the spark plugs from both cylinder heads.

Installation

1. Check and, if necessary, adjust the electrode gap.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS, Engine - petrol KV6.

2. Screw in the spark plugs and tighten them to 25 Nm.

3. Lubricate the lower coil seals with rubber grease and fully insert the coils into the cylinder heads.

4. Screw in bolts of fastening of coils of ignition and tighten them the moment of 10 Nanometers.

5. Connect the connectors to the ignition coils and secure the connectors.

6. Replace the engine soundproof cover.

7. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
