Spark plugs: up to May 2003 (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Remove a noise-insulating casing of the engine.

KV6 ENGINE - MODIFICATION K, Camshafts of the left cylinder head, Noise-insulating casing of the engine.

3. Right cylinder head only: Release clips and disconnect connectors from ignition coils.

4. Right cylinder head only: Remove the 6 ignition coil bolts to the right cylinder head valve cover and remove the ignition coils.



5. Left cylinder head only: After marking the position, disconnect the high voltage wires.

Installation

1. Adjust the spark plug gap to 1.00 mm.

2. Screw in the spark plugs and tighten them to 25 Nm.

3. Left cylinder head only: Connect high voltage wires.

4. Right cylinder head only: Install ignition coils to spark plugs.

5. Only for the right cylinder head: Screw in the bolts securing the ignition coils to the right valve cover and tighten them to a torque of 9 Nm.

6. Right cylinder head only: Connect the connectors to the ignition coils and secure the connectors with the clips.

7. Replace the engine soundproof cover.

8. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
