Engine Control Module (ECM). North American market (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.



2. Loosen the 5 screws securing the junction box cover ("E" box). Remove the cover.



3. Disconnect 5 connectors from the engine control unit.



4. Release the two latches and remove the engine control unit (ECM).

Installation

1. Install the engine control unit (ECM) and connect connectors.

2. Install the junction box cover, screw in the screws and tighten them to 2 Nm.

3. Attach "negative" battery terminal.

4. Start the control unit using the TestBook/T4 diagnostic tool.

ATTENTION: The engine control unit allows no more than 20 reprogrammings.
