Front crankshaft oil seal (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the timing belt.

ENGINE - MODIFICATION K, volume 1.8, Piston group, Timing belt.

2. Remove the crankshaft drive gear.



3. Install the stop LRT-37-010 on the end of the crankshaft.

4. Check that the bore of LRT-12-133 is free of burrs.

5. Screw tool LRT-12-133 into the crankshaft front oil seal.

6. While tightening the LRT-12-133 center bolt, remove the oil seal.

7. Dispose of the stuffing box.

8. Remove the puller stop from the crankshaft.

Installation

1. With a lint-free cloth, thoroughly wipe the oil seal seat and the sealing surface of the crankshaft pulley.



2. Put on a toe of a cranked shaft the protective cover which is included in the package of delivery of an epiploon.

3. Install the oil seal using tool LRT-12-137.

CAUTION: The seals must be installed dry.

4. Remove the gland guide from the crankshaft.

5. Wipe the timing gear.

6. Install the gear on the crankshaft.

7. Install the timing belt.

ENGINE - MODIFICATION K, volume 1.8, Piston group, Timing belt.

8. Add oil to the engine.
