Throttle control cable — check and adjustment (Freelander 1)

Examination

1. Remove the soundproof casing of the engine.

KV6 ENGINE - MODIFICATION K, Camshafts of the left cylinder head, Noise-insulating casing of the engine.

2. Before adjusting the cable, check that it is routed and secured properly.

Adjustment

1. Remove the throttle cable adjusting nut from the bracket.



2. Hold the damper drive section in the fully closed position.

3. Tighten the adjusting nut until there is no slack in the cable so that the nut rests against the bracket. In this case, the throttle valve should not open.

4. Attach the throttle cable adjusting nut to the bracket.

5. Press the gas pedal and check for full travel.

6. Replace the engine soundproof cover.
