Pedal Position Sensor (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the 2 nuts securing the pedal assembly to the bulkhead.

2. Disconnect the gas cable from the gas pedal.

3. Disconnect the connector from the pedal position switch.

4. Remove the gas pedal assembly from the vehicle.



5. Disconnect the sensor from the bracket on the gas pedal.

6. Release the bracket from the fasteners on the gas pedal and remove the bracket.

Installation

1. Install the sensor bracket on the gas pedal and secure it.

2. Slide the sensor completely onto the bracket.



3. To verify that the sensor is correctly adjusted, verify that the protrusion on the gas pedal touches the switch on the sensor when the pedal is fully released.

4. Connect the connector to the pedal position switch.

5. Connect the throttle cable to the gas pedal and secure it.

6. Install the gas pedal with the sensor on the studs, fit the nuts and tighten them to a torque of 25 Nm.
