1st gear engagement switch PG1 (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Remove the lower engine protection.

EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORKS, Engine lower shield.

3. Install a container to collect the oil.



4. Turn away nuts of fastening of a cover of the contact gauge of inclusion of the first transfer to a transmission and remove a cover.



5. Disconnect the connector from the first gear engagement switch.

6. Remove the sensor.

Installation

1. Wipe the mating surfaces of the first gear engagement contact sensor, screw in the sensor and tighten it to 24 Nm.

2. Remove the container from under the gearbox.

3. Connect the connector to the first gear engagement switch.

4. Check the gear oil level in the gearbox and top up if necessary.

5. Reinstall the lower motor guard.

6. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
