1st gear contact sensor GETRAG (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Remove the lower engine protection.

3. Disconnect the connector from the first gear engagement switch.

4. Install a container to collect the oil.

5. Remove the sensor.

Installation

1. Wipe the mating surfaces of the first gear engagement contact sensor, screw in the sensor and tighten it to 24 Nm.

2. Remove the container from under the gearbox.

3. Connect the connector to the first gear engagement switch.

4. Check the gear oil level in the gearbox and top up if necessary.

5. Reinstall the lower motor guard.

6. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
