Laying of the engine oil cooling heat exchanger (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Remove the intake manifold gasket.

MANIFOLDS AND EXHAUST SYSTEM - Td4, REPAIRS, Intake manifold gaskets.

3. Drain the engine coolant.

COOLING SYSTEM: Td4 engine, ADJUSTMENTS, Coolant drain, system flush and fill.

4. Take out clamps of fastening of hoses to a branch pipe of system of cooling and remove hoses from a branch pipe.

5. Remove and discard the seals on the quick connect hoses to the cooling system inlet.

6. Move the cooling system hoses to the side for easier access.

7. Drain the engine oil and remove the filter element from the oil filter housing.

8. Remove the starter.

SYSTEM OF STARTING THE ENGINE AND CHARGING THE BATTERY, REPAIR WORKS, Starter - engine Td4.

9. Loosen the clamp and remove the hose from the oil cooling heat exchanger.

10. Place a container to collect the escaping fluid.

11. Turn away 3 bolts of fastening of the heat exchanger to a head of the oil filter.

12. Remove and discard gasket between heat exchanger and oil filter head.

Installation

1. Wipe the mating surfaces on the heat exchanger and on the oil filter head.

2. Install a new gasket on the filter head.

3. Install the heat exchanger on the oil filter head and tighten the bolts. Tightening torque 22 Nm.

4. Push the water hose onto the heat exchanger and secure it with a clamp.

5. Reinstall the starter.

SYSTEM OF STARTING THE ENGINE AND CHARGING THE BATTERY, REPAIR WORKS, Starter - engine Td4.

6. Insert a new oil filter element and fill the engine with oil.

7. Put new O-rings on the cooling system pipe.

8. Push the hoses with quick couplings onto the coolant outlet.

9. Install the intake manifold gasket.
