Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
2. Remove the lower engine protection.
EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORKS, Engine lower shield.
3. Turn away 3 bolts of fastening of the right dirt-protective panel and remove the panel.
4. Remove the hydraulic support.
ENGINE - MODIFICATION K, volume 1.8, Front seal of the exhaust camshaft, Right engine hydraulic support.
5. Remove the top part of the timing belt cover.
ENGINE - MODIFICATION K, volume 1.8, Front oil seal of the exhaust camshaft, Upper timing cover.
6. Rotate the crankshaft until the marks on the camshaft gears are aligned.
7. Remove and discard the timing belt tensioner mounting bolt.
8. Remove the spring indicator along with the timing belt tensioner.
9. When removing the timing belt from the camshaft gears, do not use any tools for this (only with hands). CAUTION: Check the belt for wear and contamination. Replace the belt if it is worn or dirty.
10. Remove the tool LRT-12-134 to align the camshaft marks.
11. Hold the camshaft with the LRT-12-182 yoke and remove the camshaft sprocket bolt with washer.
12. Remove the camshaft gear.
13. Lay out a rag to collect the leaking oil.
14. Screw the gear wheel mounting bolt into the camshaft.
15. Remove the camshaft oil seal using the LRT-12-147 puller with the LRT-12-129 bolt.
16. Dispose of the camshaft oil seal.
17. Remove the bolt from the camshaft.
Installation
1. Wash the gland seat and camshaft.
2. Check that the protective cover LRT-12-203 for installing oil seals is clean. Install the cover on the camshaft.
3. Install the oil seal using the LRT-12-148A tool.
NOTE: Front seals are black.
CAUTION: The seals must be installed dry. Do not use LRT-12-148 arbor.
4. Clean the camshaft gear and seat on the camshaft.
WARNING: If sintered gears (powder metallurgy technology), have been in contact with oil for a long time, then, before installation, they must be soaked in a solvent and then washed in a pure solvent. The porous structure of the sintered material absorbs oil, which, if released, will contaminate the timing belt.
5. Install the gear on the camshaft, screw in the bolt with the washer. Fix the camshaft with the LRT-12-182 fork and tighten the bolt to 65 Nm.
6. Align the camshaft marks and install the LRT-12-134 mandrel.
7. Install the spring indicator so that it is higher than the bolt located on the right and that the tensioner lever is in the position "9 o'clock".
8. Screw in a new special one and tighten it so that the tensioner arm can only just be moved.
9. Put on the timing belt without using tools (only with hands). During installation of the belt, its branch between the gears of the intake and exhaust camshafts must remain taut.
10. Check that the belt is completely on all gears and rollers.
11. Remove the LRT-12-134 tool to align the camshaft marks.
12. Using a 6 mm hex wrench, turn the tensioner counterclockwise so that the tensioner pointer is opposite the spring indicator. The tensioner pointer should fit the spring indicator from above. If the tensioner pointer passes the spring indicator, then you need to fully pull the tensioner back and do the operation again.
NOTE: If an old belt is being installed, the spring indicator should be aligned with the bottom of the indicator.
13. After checking the correct position of the pointer relative to the indicator, tighten the bolt to 25 Nm.
14. Turn the crankshaft 2 turns until the marks on the camshaft gears are aligned.
Do not turn the crankshaft using the camshaft gears, the camshaft bolts or the timing belt.
15. Check the correct position of the tensioner pointer relative to the indicator.
16. If the position needs to be corrected, then loosen the tensioner mounting bolt so that the lever can be moved with great effort. Turn the lever clockwise until tension is completely removed from the belt, then turn the lever clockwise until the pointer is correctly aligned with the indicator.
17. After checking the correct position of the pointer relative to the indicator, tighten the bolt to 25 Nm.
18. Turn the crankshaft 2 turns until the marks on the camshaft gears are aligned.
19. Check the position of the pointer relative to the indicator, if necessary, repeat the operation described above.
20. Install the top of the timing belt cover.
ENGINE - MODIFICATION K, volume 1.8, Front oil seal of the exhaust camshaft, Upper timing cover.
21. Install the hydraulic support.
ENGINE - MODIFICATION K, volume 1.8, Front seal of the exhaust camshaft, Right engine hydraulic support.
22. Install the dirt protection panel and secure it with bolts.
23. Reinstall the lower engine guard.
EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORKS, Engine lower shield.
24. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
25. Add oil to the gearbox.
MAINTENANCE, MAINTENANCE, Engine oil and oil filter - K1.8.
