Sensors: Camshaft position sensor (CMP) (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Remove a noise-insulating casing of the engine.

ENGINE - Td4, Intake and Exhaust Camshafts, Engine Soundproofing, Models up to May 2002.

3. Disconnect the connector from the camshaft position sensor (CMP).



4. Loosen the hexagon socket screw that the sensor (CMP) attached to the valve cover.

5. Remove the camshaft position sensor (CMP) and discard the sealing washer.

Installation

1. Wipe the camshaft position sensor (CMP) and mating surfaces.

2. Install on the sensor (CMP) new seal, install the sensor on the valve cover and tighten the mounting screw. Tightening torque 8 Nm.

3. Connect the connector to the camshaft position sensor (CMP).

4. Replace the engine soundproof cover.

5. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
