Glow plug — removal and installation (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Remove the intake manifold gaskets

3. Disconnect connectors from glow plugs.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing system components, make sure that the surfaces adjacent to the connection points are free of dirt. Install plugs in fittings and piping to keep dirt out of the system.

4. Using a tall socket, remove the 4 glow plugs.

Installation

1. Thoroughly wipe the glow plugs and their sockets in the cylinder head.

2. Screw in the spark plugs and tighten them to 20 Nm.

3. Put the connectors on the glow plugs.

4. Install the intake manifold gaskets.

5. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
