Dismantling
1. Remove the top lining of the floor tunnel.
INTERIOR PARTS, REPAIRS, Center Console - for cars up to 2004 model year.
2. Disconnect a cable from the selector lever.
3. Take out a forked clip of fastening of a cover of a cable to the case of the selector.
4. Raise the front of the vehicle.
WARNING: Do not work under a vehicle that is only supported by a jack. Always install safety props.
5. Remove the lower engine protection.

6. Release a cable of a choice of transfers from fastening on a body.
7. Loosen the nut securing the selector cable to the gear lever.
8. Remove the retainer for fastening the cable sheath to the bracket on the gearbox, remove the cable and the sleeve for fastening the cable on the lever.
Installation
1. Install the cable bushing onto the selector lever, thread the cable through the hole in the bushing, but do not tighten the nut at this stage.
2. Install the cable sheath on the gearbox bracket and secure with the retainer.
3. Install the cable on the selector housing and secure the sheath in the fork clip.
4. Insert the fork clip securing the cable sheath to the selector housing.
5. Attach the cable to the selector lever.
6. Reinstall the top lining of the floor tunnel.

7. Check and adjust the selector cable.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: JATCO, ADJUSTMENTS, Selector cable adjustment.
8. Reinstall the lower engine guard.

9. Remove props and lower the car.
