Locations of identification numbers (Freelander 1)

Engine number

The engine number is stamped on the front of the cylinder block next to the gearbox (for K1.8 engines).



The engine number is stamped on the rear left side of the KV6 engine block.



The engine number is stamped on the rear left side of the Td4 engine block.

Serial number for manual transmission

The PG1 manual transmission serial number is located on a tag located on the front of the clutch housing.



The Getrag manual transmission serial number is located on a tag affixed to the gearbox housing.

Serial number of automatic transmission

The serial number of the JATCO automatic transmission is stamped on the top right of the transmission case.

Intermediate reduction gear IRD

The serial number of the IRD intermediate reduction gear is located on a tag affixed to the gearbox housing.
