All components of the SRS system must be carefully inspected before installation. Do not install components that show signs of rough handling, such as dents, cracks, or signs of permanent deformation.
WARNING: The reliability of the SRS system directly affects the vehicle's passive safety. Firmly adhere to the following rules.
- Do not install used SRS components; do not attempt to repair components of the SRS system.
- When repairing the SRS system, use only original spare parts.
- It is forbidden to apply electrical voltage to the terminals of the components of the SRS system, unless it is prescribed by the instructions.
- When installing the airbag module, special Torx screws are used, other screws are prohibited. Make sure the screws are tightened to the correct torque.
- When replacing components of the SRS system, replace the fasteners with new ones.
- When replacing the electronic unit of the SRS system (DCU) make sure it is installed correctly. Between the electronic unit (DCU) and the bracket for its fastening should not have any gap. Incorrect installation of the electronic unit of the SRS system (DCU) may cause system malfunction.
CAUTION: SRS system components must be free of oil, grease, cleaning agents, or water.
Ensure that the fastening parts of the SRS components are correctly located and tightened to the recommended torque when servicing and repairing.
WARNING: The accuracy of torque wrenches should be checked regularly. This will ensure that all fasteners are properly tightened.
If you suspect an airbag malfunction, it should be replaced with a new one and the old one discarded. Unroll the old pillow by hand before disposal.
