Starter — KV6 engine (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the battery tray.

2. Remove the cover of the starter solenoid connector, unscrew the nut securing the battery wire to the solenoid and disconnect the wire.

3. Disconnect the connector from the starter solenoid.

4. Unscrew the 3 bolts securing the starter to the gearbox, also remembering that the left bolt also secures the crankshaft position sensor connector (CKP).

5. Maneuvering, remove the starter.

Installation

1. Clear a starter and interfaced surfaces of a dirt.

2. Position the starter on the gearbox, install the CKP sensor connector bracket, install the bolts and tighten them to 45 Nm.

3. Attach a wire from the storage battery to the generator, screw on a nut and tighten it with the moment of 13 Nanometers. Install the terminal cover.

4. Attach block to a starter.

5. Replace the battery tray.
