Drive belt (for models with K1.8 engine) (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Turn the steering all the way to the right.



3. Turn away 3 bolts of fastening of the right protective screen to a body and remove the screen.



4. To loosen the tension of the drive belt, turn the hex of the tension roller fully clockwise with a wrench.

5. To hold the idler in place, insert a suitable pin with a diameter of no more than 3 millimeters in the center of the hexagon into its back shield.

6. Remove and discard drive belt.

Installation

1. Clean the grooves of the drive belt pulleys. Make sure the grooves are not damaged.

2. Install the drive belt. Make sure the drive belt is correctly positioned in the pulley grooves.

3. Remove the pin and release the tension roller. Lower the tension roller onto the drive belt.

4. Install the rear shield and tighten its mounting bolts.

5. Place steering in neutral position.

6. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
