Examination
1. Move the selector lever to position "R".
2. Remove the key from the ignition lock.
3. Make sure that the selector lever cannot be moved from the position "P".
4. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the "II".
5. Depress the brake pedal and check that the selector lever can be moved from the position "R". Also make sure that the key cannot be removed from the ignition switch. The key can only be turned to an intermediate position between the positions "I" And "0".
Adjustment
1. Move the selector lever to position "R".
2. Remove the key from the ignition lock.
3. Remove the front console.

4. Loosen the cable tie bolt.
5. Move the cable away from the lock mechanism. Retract the cable until you feel the resistance of the spring. Adjust the position of the cable if it can be removed without compressing the spring. After making the adjustment, tighten the screw of the cable tie of the ignition lock mechanism with a torque of 6 Nm.
6. Check cable function.
7. Replace the front console.
