Dismantling

1. Remove the front propeller shaft.

2. Clamp the hinge in a vise and carefully remove the boot from the hinge housing.



3. Remove the pivot housing and discard the gasket.



4. While holding the shaft in a vise, remove the circlip holding the 3-pin joint.


5. Remove the three-stud from the shaft.



6. Remove clamp, remove and discard protective cover.

Installation

1. Clean grease from pivot housing and shaft.

2. Put a new protective cover on the shaft with a new collar. Do not tighten clamp.

3. While holding the shaft in a vise, slide the 3-stud onto the shaft and install the circlip.

4. Load the assembly with the supplied grease.

5. Spread grease into the grooves in the pivot housing and install the new oil seal, aligning the bolt holes.

6. Insert the shaft into the hinge body, align the boot holes with the bolt holes, insert 6 bolts and 6 nuts.



7. Crimp the glass of the cover in three places, as shown in the figure.



8. Lift the edge of the cover and squeeze the hinge to remove air.


9. Tighten the boot clamp and remove the bolts and nuts from the hinge body.

10. Reinstall the front propeller shaft.
