Vacuum pump — for vehicles with Td4 engine and automatic transmission (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.

2. Remove the valve cover of the cylinder head.

ENGINE - Td4, Intake and exhaust camshafts, Valve cover gasket.

3. For ease of assembly, mark the location of the EGR piping (EGR) and cooler.

4. Loosen the clamps securing the pipes of the EGR system to the cooler and move the clamps to the side.

5. Remove the tube, cooler and EGR valve.

6. Turn away a bolt of fastening of a fuel stage to a basic arm.

7. Turn away a bolt of fastening of the pipeline of an intercooler to a basic arm.

8. Remove the lower engine protection shield.

9. Turn away a bolt of fastening of the final pipeline of a turbocharger to the top collector of system of cooling.

10. Remove the 2 bolts securing the pipeline support bracket to the engine lift bracket. Remove the support bracket.

11. Loosen the clamp and remove the vacuum hose.

12. Turn out and discard 2 bolts of fastening of the vacuum pump.

13. Remove the 3 bolts securing the EGR cooler to the block head and lifting bracket.

14. Move the EGR cooler aside to provide access to the vacuum pump.

15. Remove the vacuum pump and discard the O-ring.

Installation

1. Clean the vacuum pump and mating surfaces of dirt.

2. Fit a new O-ring to the vacuum pump. Install the vacuum pump and tighten the new bolts to 22 Nm.

3. Install the EGR cooler in place, tighten the bolts and tighten them with a torque of 25 Nm.

4. Place the pipeline support bracket on the engine lift bracket, install the bolts and tighten them to 25 Nm.

5. Connect a vacuum hose and tighten a collar of its fastening.

6. Screw in the turbocharger exhaust pipe to the cooling system manifold and tighten to 25 Nm.

7. Replace the lower motor shield.

8. Wrap a bolt of fastening of the pipeline of intermediate cooler to a basic arm and tighten it with the moment of 10 Nm.

9. Wrap the bolt securing the fuel rail to the support bracket and tighten it to a torque of 10 Nm.

10. Connect the EGR system pipe to the cooler, put on the clamp, but do not tighten it all the way until you install the valve cover.

11. Put on a collar of fastening of a tube of system EGR and tighten the screw.

12. Install the cylinder head valve cover.
