Cables and sunroof drive 5-door car (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the glass cover.

2. Open the sunroof.

3. Release from fastening and remove a deflector.

4. Set the sunroof to lid tilt mode.

If the sunroof motor does not work, use a tool to manually tilt the sunroof.

5. Remove the sunroof motor reducer.

6. Remove the 4 Torx screws securing the lift mechanism to the roof.

7. Remove the rear cam track.

8. Slide the drive forward and remove the cable guide clamp.

9. Remove the hoist and cable.

Installation

1. Make sure the cable tube is in place. Lightly grease the end of the cable tube.

2. Connect the cable to the tube and install the roof lift.

3. Install the cable guide tie and set the lift mechanism to cover tilt mode.

4. Reinstall the rear cam track.

5. Install and tighten the Torx screws securing the lift mechanism to the roof.

6. Install sunroof motor reducer.

7. Open the sunroof.

8. Replace the deflector and attach it to the roof.

9. Replace the glass cover.
