Front latch and hardtop retainer (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the awning.

ROOF, REPAIR WORKS, Frame and tarpaulin assembly - removal for access to the repair site and installation in place.

2. Remove the 2 Torx screws holding the latch, slide the latch to the side and remove it.



3. Remove the Torx screw securing the trim panel to the hardtop retainer.

4. Remove the 3 Torx screws securing the hardtop retainer and remove the retainer.

Installation

1. Fit the hardtop retainer, install the Torx screws and tighten to 10 Nm.

2. Tighten the Torx screw that secures the decorative panel.

3. Install the latch, screw in and tighten the Torx screws with a torque of 10 Nm.

Make sure the shaped washer is properly seated in the latch cavity.

4. Install the awning.
