This operation replaces the cross member side panels along with the lower front cross member.
Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
2. Disconnect the generator.
3. Disconnect all electronic units.
4. Remove the left and right mudguards of a motor compartment.
5. Remove the front bumper.
EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORKS, Front bumper assembly - for vehicles up to 2004 model year.
6. Remove a beam of a forward bumper.
7. Remove the radiator.
COOLING SYSTEM: MOD. K, KV6 engine, REPAIR WORK, Radiator assembly.
8. Remove the power steering fluid cooler.
STEERING, Steering Gear, Power Steering Fluid Cooler (for models with Td4 or K1.8 engine).
9. Release the wiring harnesses of the left and right headlights and take them aside.
Repair work
1. Remove damaged panels, prepare joint edges and install new panels in accordance with the Body Panel Repair Code. Punch or drill holes in the panel to be installed for the cork weld as shown. The front lower cross member assembly is only available with a limited number of spot welding points. Make sure the correct number of plug weld points are installed in place of the missing weld points as shown in the figure below.
Assembly
1. Reattach left and right headlight harnesses.
2. Install the power steering fluid cooler.
STEERING, Steering Gear, Power Steering Fluid Cooler (for models with Td4 or K1.8 engine).
3. Install the heatsink.
COOLING SYSTEM: MOD. K, KV6 engine, REPAIR WORK, Radiator assembly.
4. Establish a beam of a forward bumper.
5. Install the front bumper.

6. Establish the left and right mudguards of a motor compartment.
7. Connect all electronic units.
8. Connect the generator.
9. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
