Deployment of the seat belt pretensioner
WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out any work on the SRS system before reading the relevant sections of the Manual.
1. Follow all safety rules when working with the airbag system
GENERAL INFORMATION, Forced operation of the SRS component.
2. Remove the airbag module from the steering wheel.
PASSIVE SAFETY SYSTEMS, REPAIR WORK, Driver airbag.
3. Check the condition of the LRT-86-003 fixture and cables supplied with it.
4. Clamp the LRT-86-007-02 bracket in a vise. The jaws of the vise should clamp the bracket above the bottom flange to prevent the bracket from moving up due to detonation. Tighten the vise.
5. Fix the airbag to the LRT-86-007-02 bracket using both LRT-86-007-05 clips.
6. Make sure the airbag module support bracket is securely fastened.
CAUTION: Make sure the tool is not connected to a battery.
7. Connect the electrical cable LRT-86-003-08 of the accessory to the airbag module.
8. Connect the electrical cable LRT-86-003-08 to the LRT-86-003 tool.
9. Connect tool LRT-86-003 to battery.
WARNING: Ensure that all persons are at least 15 m away from the air bag module.
10. To bring the airbag into action, press the power button on the fixture body.
WARNING: During activation, the parts of the airbag are heated to high temperatures, which can cause burns. Wait 30 minutes after deployment before touching the airbag module.
11. Disconnect the electrical cable LRT-86-003-08 of the accessory from the airbag module.
12. Wearing gloves and a protective mask, remove the airbag module from the LRT-86-007-02 bracket. Place the pillow in a plastic bag and seal it tightly.
13. Wipe the fixture with a damp cloth.
14. Dispose of the spent airbag module to a designated incineration area.
NOTE: Do not transport parts of deployed restraint systems in the vehicle interior.
15. DO NOT reuse or recycle SRS components, including the steering wheel and steering column.
