Dismantling
WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out any work on the SRS system before reading the relevant sections of the Manual.
WARNING: When removing, inspecting and installing the airbag module, do not lean over it.
1. Follow all safety rules when working with the airbag system.
GENERAL INFORMATION, Airbag and seat belt pretensioner regulations.
2. Remove the 2 Torx screws securing the airbag module to the control panel.
3. Release the 4 fasteners securing the lower decorative overlay of the airbag module.
4. Remove the lower decorative overlay of the airbag module.
5. Turn away 4 screws of fastening of an arm of the lower decorative overlay.
6. Turn away 3 Torx bolts of fastening of the module of an airbag to the control panel.
7. Remove the airbag module from the control panel.
CAUTION: Do not let the airbag module hang on the power cable.
8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the airbag module.
9. Remove the airbag module.
WARNING: Store airbags face up. If the air bag module is stored with the deployment side facing down, if it is accidentally deployed, it will be thrown up with enough force to cause serious injury.
Installation
1. Locate the airbag module next to the control panel and connect the electrical connector to the module.
NOTE: If an airbag module has been replaced, note down the bar code of the new module.
2. Install the airbag module to the control panel and tighten the Torx screws to 10 Nm.
3. Install the bottom trim to the bracket.
4. Install the 4 screws securing the bottom trim bracket.
5. Fix the lower decorative trim on the clips.
6. Install the 2 Torx screws securing the airbag module to the control panel.
7. Connect the battery terminals, first "negative" terminal.
