Rear console — removal and installation (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the rear ashtray from the rear console, unplug the electrical connector from the electrical outlet and remove the ashtray.



2. Remove the mat from the recess, lift the lid and remove the insert for the storage compartment.



3. Remove the 2 screws securing the back of the console.

4. Remove the cover and remove the 2 screws securing the front of the console.



5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the power window keys and the rear window power window key, if fitted.



6. Release the clamp securing the electrical cable to the center console.

7. Remove the rear console.



8. Remove the switches from the rear console.

Installation

1. Install the switches on the console.

2. Attach the console and connect the electrical connectors.

3. Establish a collar of fastening of an electric cable on the central console.

4. Align the console, tighten the screws that secure it, and reinstall the cover.

5. Insert the insert for the storage compartment and place the mat in the niche.

6. Install the rear ashtray, connect the electrical connector and secure the ashtray to the center console.
