Removing the front door assembly to provide access to other elements (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the self-tapping screw and 5 Torx screws from the carpet attachment strip and remove the strip.



2. Release from fastening and disconnect electric sockets in the bottom part of a rack 'A'.

3. Release the wiring harness from the front 'A' pillar and route the door wiring harness through the pillar.

4. Remove the pin from the door stop and disconnect the stop from the A-pillar 'A'.

5. Discard the pin.

6. Remove 2 clips from door hinges.

7. With the help of a partner, lift and remove the door.

Assembly

1. With the help of a partner, put the door on the hinges.

2. Install the clips on the hinges.

3. Connect the door stop to the A-pillar 'A' and secure it with a new pin.

4. Slide the door wiring through the A-pillar 'A' and secure its cover.

5. Connect and secure the electrical connectors at the bottom of the A-pillar 'A'.

6. Install the carpet fixing bar. Secure it with Torx screws and a self-tapping screw.

7. Check the correct installation of the door.
