External front door handle (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the plastic trim on the front door panel.

DOORS, Removing the front door assembly to gain access to other components, installing the front door, 5-door plastic front door trim.

2. Release the clamp securing the external handle rod to the door lock and disconnect the rod from it.

3. Remove the 3 Torx screws securing the door lock, lower the lock and disconnect the cylinder rod from it.

4. Remove the plug to access the screw.

5. Remove the 2 screws securing the outer handle.



6. Remove the outside handle.

7. Remove the outer handle link.

Installation

1. Connect the rod to the handle.

2. Install the handle on the door, wrap and tighten the screws of its fastening.

3. Install the access plug to the lock screw.

4. Install the lock in the door, connect the cylinder rod to it, wrap and tighten the Torx screws.

5. Connect the outer handle rod to the lock.

6. Install the plastic trim on the door panel.
