Front door hinge adjustment (Freelander 1)

Examination

1. Check whether the door fits snugly against the adjacent panels, and whether the gap between the door and the corresponding body elements is the same.

Adjustment

1. Open the front door.

2. Place a block of wood on the jack and place the jack under the door. Use a jack to support the door.

3. Loosen the 4 door hinge bolts.



4. Loosen the 2 Torx bolts securing the door lock retainer.

5. Use a jack to level the door.

6. Tighten the hinge bolts.

7. Remove the jack and close the door to check if it is properly adjusted.

8. If the door is adjusted correctly, tighten the door hinge bolts to 30 Nm.

9. Adjust the door lock retainer.
