Transfer case installation 2.7L (Discovery 3)

Installation

All cars

1. With assistance, install the transfer case.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Lubricate input shaft splines with 'Weicon TL7391' grease.
• Install the sealing ring.
• Use the special tool to tighten the bolts (tightening torque 45 Nm).

2. Connect the breather hose.

3. Install the fuel line support bracket.

• Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 10 Nm).
• Connect fuel lines.

Vehicles with automatic transmission

4. Install the selector cable in the guide.

All cars

5. Attach the wiring harness to the transfer case.

• Fasten with a clip.
• Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 25 Nm).

6. Connect electrical connectors.

7. Establish a basic pillow of a transmission.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 60 Nm).

8. Install the rear driveshaft. For more information refer to Rear propshaft (47.15.03)

9. Install the front drive shaft. For more information refer to Front Driveshaft - 2.7L Diesel (47.15.02)

10. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

11. Using T4, recalibrate the new transfer case.
